A law for prevention and fighting bullying and cyberbullying was approved by the Chamber of Deputies in Italy.

According to the Istat (National Institute of Statistics) survey in 2014, cited in a report by Save the Children and other 90 subjects of the third sector, 6 percent of respondents said they have suffered unfair actions by text message, email, chat or social networks in 12 months preceding the survey. In Italy 2 million of teenagers spend their days on Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat and in these last 2 years, the cases of cyberbullying have increased dramatically, as well as the sexting phenomenon, the messages of a sexual nature via SMS and chat.

Now the law will be debated in the Senate for final approval.
